CRB Now Accepting Applications for Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship Program – Register Here
(Nashville, TN – August 29, 2022) The Country Radio Broadcasters are now accepting applications for the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program. Honoring the late Lisa McKay, a 2018 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee who famously mentored numerous young, female radio professionals during her 16 years of programming WQDR/Raleigh, this scholarship program awards three aspiring female radio programmers the opportunity to attend their first-ever CRS. Each scholarship package will include complimentary registration, hotel, and airfare for CRS 2023, held March 13-15, 2023. Scholars will be recognized at CRS 2023 during CRS Honors, which is the kick off to the 3-day event.
Each applicant must fill out an online application (here) and submit, in 500 words or less, why she should be considered. The deadline to apply is end of day on September 23.
DMR/Interactive joins CRS as a supporting partner of this scholarship program for 2023, adding to its existing participation in the CRS Rusty Walker Scholarship program. Commented Andrew Curran, President/COO of DMR/Interactive, “On behalf of Catherine Jung, Tony Bannon, and everyone at DMR/Interactive, we are proud to partner with CRS 2023 and bring a vibrant energy to Nashville with these scholarship recipients.”
Adds CRB Executive Director RJ Curtis, “We’re proud to continue this unique scholarship program for 2023 in an effort to encourage young female radio talent by providing three recipients the opportunity to experience their first-ever CRS, where education, networking, and music discovery can advance their career paths. Additionally, we’re excited to partner with DMR/Interactive, an organization with a history of supporting this kind of initiative.”
