mike oatman - Inducted 1992

Mike Oatman at one time was co-owner of the largest chain of country stations in America, yet continued to do a morning radio show. Oatman worked at KHEY, El Paso, TX as an air personality, Program Director and Sales Manager between 1959 and 1965. He joined KFDI AM & FM, Wichita, KS. in 1965, where he hosted the morning show. With partner Mike Lynch he established Great Empire Broadcasting, Inc., owners and operators of KFDI AM & FM, KTTS AM & FM, Springfield MO, WOW AM& FM, Omaha NB, KVOO AM & FM Tulsa OK, KICT FM Wichita, KS, KCKI FM, Tulsa OK, KTLQ FM, Springfield MO, KYQQ, Wichita, KS and KLLS FM, Wichita. KS.  Oatman was inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame in 1992.  He left the air on June 4, 1999 and passed away shortly thereafter.
