Bob Moody started in radio at age sixteen at KOTN Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He first worked in the Country format between semesters at college on the air at KTG Columbia, Missouri and KKEG Fayetteville, Arkansas. After graduation in 1972, he worked at WOAI San Antonio, Texas and at in 1973 KTLK Denver, CO before joining legendary CKLW Detroit, MI- Windsor, Ontario Canada from 1973 through 1976. He then worked on the air at WAKY Louisville, Kentucky from 1976 to 1985. He accepted his first Country Program Director job at KRMD Shreveport, Louisiana and its 12+ ratings increased from 3.7 to 18.4 in less than eighteen months. He remained at KRMD from 1985 to 1987. He then moved to WPOC Baltimore, Maryland from 1987 to 1996, where he doubled the ratings and was named Group Program Director for Nationwide's Country stations. He was named Billboard Magazine Program Director of the Year in 1988. He then joined the McVay Media consultant firm as VP/Country from 1997 through 2001. In 2002, he became VP/Programming for Regent Communications, Inc. He served on the Board of Directors of The Country Radio Broadcasters from 1986 to 1995.
